The sol gel process is one of the processes used in manufacture thin films on membranes because it can control pore size resulting silica matrix. In addition, another way to build membrane be done by adding catalysts and precursors used. this study, using a combination tetraethyl ortho silicate (TEOS) triethoxy vinyl silane (TEVS) citric acid as catalyst produce matrix with mesoporous so that suitable for application desalination process. organo was calcined at 350 ° C 1 hour RTP calcination technique under vacuum, thus preventing decomposition carbon dipcoated 4 times obtain layers. FTIR (Fourier-transform Infrared Spectroscopy) test carried out see functional groups xerogel, namely silanol, siloxane carbon. performance through pervaporation 0.3% NaCl feed water variations air temperature, 25 ?, 40 ? 60 ?. flux value increased increasing 6.1; 11.2; 12.1 kg.m-2h-1 while salt rejection 99.72; 99.64 99.23%.
